Bio
Angela Beek is a Maliseet visual artist from Sitansisk First Nation in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Inspired by colour, gesture, nature and human form as well as traditional Maliseet art. Her work can be found in the permanent collection of collectionArtNB (formerly The New Brunswick Art Bank).
Residency Project
Some examples of workshops are: medicine pouches, quill work on birch bark, hand drums, shakers, beading, mittens, moccasins, corn husk dolls and more. Bringing art to people is a great way to connect, have fun and share about Indigenous culture.
Teaching Experience
Since 2014, she has taught traditional art in many different settings and to all age groups.
