Mi’gmaq visual artist and writer Brandon Mitchell is the founder of Birch Bark Comics and creator of the Sacred Circles comic series. He has also written five books with the Healthy Aboriginal Network, (Lost Innocence, Drawing Hope, River Run, Making it Right, Emily's Choice and Tomorrow’s Hope) and wrote and illustrated Jean-Paul's Daring Adventure: Stories from Old Mobile for the University of Alabama. He recently contributed the story "Migwite'tmeg:We Remember It" in the national best-selling graphic novel anthology series "This Place: 150 Years retold" by Highwater Press.

Yes, you may contact the program officer responsible for the program to get feedback on your application if you are not successful. Jury comments may also be shared for juried programs.

For applicants who are set up for direct deposit, typically payments will be made within 10 business days of receipt of notification of results.

For those without direct deposit, a cheque will be mailed to grant recipients within 10-25 business days after notification of results.

Typically, an applicant may submit once to a grant program per fiscal year with the exception of the Strategic Initiative Fund. Please review each program guidelines for details.
