Residency Project

Music and writing are my passions. In this respect, I would like to offer students two different artistic projects such as: writing and recording a song & writing a poem. This is an exercise that plays an essential role in mental and emotional well-being. It helps to guide pupils in their mastery of French, to bring out each child's potential, to develop imagination and, above all, to develop and stimulate memory. As far as the content of my workshop is concerned, I'll be highlighting essential elements to be understood before embarking on the writing of a song or poem. For example, if we take the case of poetry, we first need to know the origin and definition of poetry, the manifestations of poetry, the evolution of poetry through the ages, poetic genres today, some examples and great authors, how to write a poem. Students will be divided into small groups to complete the exercise. Each group will present its project to the class. I'm also available to volunteer in schools or offer other projects depending on the students' needs.

Teaching Experience

First of all, teaching fascinates me, because not only do I share my knowledge, but I learn in return. To provide a great learning experience for students and teaching experience for myself, I start my workshop with an ice-breaker activity to lighten the atmosphere, get to know each other and build trust. On March 15, 2024, I led a slam workshop in a beautiful 6th grade class at École L'Escale Des Jeunes where the students were really motivated to learn and share their work. Before I began my presentation, a little ice-breaker was done: I introduced myself, named two things I'm passionate about and the students did the same. I also asked them if they'd ever heard of poetry or slam poetry. The aim of this question was to find out how to teach them based on the answers they received.
